Engaged couples can decide on different marriage vows, depending on their feelings.
Blessing the Rings:
The matrimony ring is the most obvious sign of a tender tie which unites a couple in eternal love. It is a seal of the declaration [Grooms name] and [Brides name] have made. Bless Oh God these engagement rings, that [Brides name] and [Grooms name], who give them, and who wear them, may ever abide in thy peace. Living together in agreement, love and joy for the rest of their days.
Exchange the Rings:
The Groom says:
[Brides name], I confer you this ring as a sign of our vows, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, with this ring, I thee wed.
The Bride says:
[Grooms name], I confer you this ring as a symbol of our vows, and with all that I am, and all that I have, I honor you. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, with this ring, I thee wed.
Exchange the Rings / Marriage Declaration:
The Minister says:
In as much as you have each pledged to the other your lifelong commitment; love and devotion, I now pronounce you husband and wife, in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Those whom God has joined together let no one put asunder. [Grooms name], You may kiss your bride!(Thank you Sophie!)
The Groom says:
I, (Grooms name), take you (Brides name), to be my wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part, or the Lord comes for His own, and hereto I pledge you my faithfulness.
The Minister suggests they loose hands; the Bride with her right hand will take the right hand of the Groom and repeat:
The Bride says:
I, (Brides name), take you (Grooms name), to be my wedded husband, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, to love land to cherish, till death do us part, or the Lord comes for His own, and hereto I pledge you my faithfulness.
